Welcome to First Grade

Hello, my name is Kim Clanton. I am excited about the 2014-2015 school year and delighted to be a part of your child's life.  First Grade is a time of new beginnings, making new friends, and learning new ideas. I want you and your child to be actively involved in his/her education.  Working together we can make your child's first grade experience a positive and successful one. This year will be filled with wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing.

I would like to share with you some information about myself. I have 16 years of successful teaching experience. This is my 9th year at North Coffee.  I attended Middle Tennessee State University where I earned my Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees.  I also attended Tennessee Technological University where I received an Education Specialist degree. I have two wonderful children, Shaelyn 13and Bryson 11, they keep me very busy!

I encourage communication between parents and teachers.  Feel free to come to me with any question, comments, concerns, or suggestions.  I will be available before 8:00a.m. and after 3:00p.m., or at a scheduled time.

                                                                                     Working Together,

                                                                                       Kim Clanton

Philosophy      I believe all students are unique individuals.  Not all children learn at the same pace or in the same way.  It is my responsibility to meet each student where they are and to provide the tools and assistance that will allow them to reach their fullest potential.
